Africa

Context

Each year, millions of children are victims of the political, social and economic instabilities in this region of the world. At the same time, abandonment, ill-treatment, physical and sexual violence as well as labour exploitation deeply affect the African youth.

For over 20 years, BICE has been supporting the less fortunate children in Ivory Coast, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in Mali and in Togo.

Our goal in Africa is to secure an environment where children’s rights are protected. This environment results from the combination of a political and social will, illustrated by interactions between the States’ institutions and services, civil society, families, religious organisations, media and human or children’s rights institutions.

Our actions in this region

BICE projects and programs in Africa aim at backing long-term development, by supporting children and families in the long run through two strategic orientations: children deprived of liberty / children in conflict with the law and children victims of abuse and/or sexual exploitation.

Our missions fully integrate the following dimensions: international advocacy, strengthening of capacities, capitalization and circulation of “best practices”.
